• Previously attendance of one-day retreat or equivalent experience
• Commitment to the entire length of the two-day retreat

Event Description
This is a complete delight! "Weekend Retreat"! This is a not-to-be-missed opportunity to experience the of practice meditation and it is also a fantastic way to treat yourself. Give your "self" a weekend of meditation, experiencing and enjoying the benefits of Chan practice.


Retreat Program
Chan meditation methods will be taught in the context of daily life activities, such as standing, walking, sleeping, working, eating and hiking, at teacher's discretion. Gentle yoga exercises further harmonize the body and mind. The retreat also includes daily lectures, meditation instruction, guided meditation, and other Chan activities as time permits.

The retreat will follow the traditional Chan monastery schedule, starting early in the morning with numerous forty-minute sitting periods throughout the day. And making the most efficient use of time in concentrated group practice.

Participants should be mentally and physically prepared for the rigors of such a regimen, attendees will be asked to meet the listed requirements.


Pricing
This event is priced on a sliding scale. Please consider your registration as a moment to practice generosity by paying at the highest rate that you can afford. Your generosity supports Dharma Drum Retreat Center, staff, your fellow practitioners, and our continued efforts to help people to learn and grow. Any amount paid above the Base rate is a tax-deductible donation to DDRC. Please contact us if you need the tax receipt.

No one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Chartered Shuttle
We are happy to offer a chartered shuttle service from Manhattan Penn Station to our center, provided we have enough interested participants. The fee for the shuttle service is $75 for one way and $150 for a round trip per person.

The shuttle will depart from Manhattan Penn Station at 2:00 pm on the start day of the retreat, taking you directly to our center. On the end day of the retreat, the return shuttle will depart from our center at 4:30 pm, heading back to Manhattan Penn Station.

If you wish to avail of the shuttle service, please remember to check the item during registration.

Teacher
Yan Xi Fashi

Yanxi Fashi first learned meditation when he was in college. He searches for the solution of how to eliminate the suffering, and Master Sheng Yen's teaching inspired him in that Chan practice changes mindset which we can change our view point when facing problem. He leaved his career in Macao and went to Taiwan to become a Monk. He joined Dharma Drum Mountain's monastic community in August 2016. He graduated from seminary program with Chan Meditation Practice in Dharma Drum Sangha University. He has served as an assistant Buddhist minister in the International Chan Retreat Center in Dharma Drum Mountain, Taiwan.
